Ships are painted at frequent intervals because salt water of sea can corore the metal very easily. Although the Ships are made of industrial grade stainless steel, the sea water tends to increase the rusting process by many folds as compare to normal water.

Hey dear,
◆ Ships are painted at frequent intervals because -
- Mostly ships are made of iron or iron alloys.
- This iron may easily get corroded due to salty seawater.
- So to avoid direct contact of water with iron, these ships are painted.
- Also those paints contain some lead/zinc in them which provides protection against rusting.
Hope this helped you. Thanks for asking..
