stainless steel is an alloy of iron, chromium, carbon and nickel .it never rust and hence, maintains its luster .whereas, the iron exposed in moist air rusts. it is covered with reddish substance and losses its luster. And hence stainless steel has more luster than iron.

The main scientific reason which shoes that metal like Stainless Steel have more luster as compared to luster of iron beacuse, Stainless Steel is actually an alloy.
