Actually when an object falls it's acceleration keeps changing due to the resistance of air but neglecting that resistance only gravitational force acts on it whose value is 9.8g/m^2. Also as it is freely falling here u=0 then according to formula h=u+1/2at^2 . h=height is constant and also the time taken by the object to reach the distance is t=h/v but h is constant and velocity v is constant hence time is also constant on the basis in the equation everything h,t is constant and u is 0. So acceleration of freely falling object is uniform
