Denaturation is when proteins fold upon themselves because the bonds are disrupted.

causes of denaturing are :-
1. heat
2. pH change.

Heat causes the bonds in the proteins to break and destroy their structure

High pH also causes the same effect. The OH ions pull at the hydrogen bonds, and disrupt the structure...

peptide bonds of secondary and tertiary structure are destroyed

once the protein becomes denatured it can't be renatured even if peptide bonds of primary structure are present
