According to domain theory, quantum mechanical exchange forces make magnetic moments of nearby atoms tend to point in the same direction. ... The existence of sufficient exchange forces in some materials makes them ferromagnetic. Each ferromagnetic material has a unique Curie temperature

Give short note on domain theory of ferromagnetism..?
→ Definition of Domains : Domains are the small regions in which the magnetic dipole moments are oriented in the same direction.
→ Also check the necessary diagram
( provided with the answer ).
→ Theory : In the absence of external magnetic field, the magnetic dipole moments in small domains are oriented in different directions so that the net dipole moment is zero.
→ When external magnetic field is applied, the magnetic dipole moments align themselves in the direction of applied field.
→ Therefore ferromagnetic materials gets magnetised in the direction of applied magnetic field.
Hope it helped u.
