Language is an important facet of art and culture.

India with 22 scheduled languages recognized by its constitution, is a rich country as far as literature is concerned. We have millennia old literature in the form of the Vedas, puranas and the epic mahabharata and Ramayana.

Sanskrit and pali are among the oldest languages in the world.

Sanskrit is called the mother of the most of the indian languages.

Most of the Buddhist literature is in pali language. In India, most languages are written from left to right.

However, three languages are Kashmir, Sindhi and Urdu are written from right to left.
