Give sign conservation of spherical mirror. Write mirror formula. Is it applicable to a plane mirror?

mirror formula:1/f=1/v+1/u. the object distance 'u' is always taken as negative , the image distance 'v' varies according to where the image is formed for example ,if the image is formed on the other side of the mirror it is taken as positive and vice versa .
