The given equation of SHM is

X(t) = 10cos(2πt + π/6)

From this equation , the following parameters can be deduced:

A = maximum amplitude = 10m

ω = angular velocity = 2π

Ф = phase displacement = π/6

i) putting t = 0, we get

X(0) = 10 cos(0 + π/6)

= 10 x √3/2

= 10 x 0.866

= 8.66 m

ii) The maximum velocity is given by,

V = Aω

=> V = 10 x 2π

=> V = 62.8 m/s

iii) Angular displacement = π/6 radians
