H.C.F stands for the highest common factor among a set of numbers, while L.C.M stands for least common factor among a set of numbers.

For eg: Let’s find the H.C.F of X, Y, Z where all belongs to N.

If the factors of X are A and B

Similarliy The factors of Y are C, A and B

The factors of Z are A, D and B

The common factors are A and B

The highest common factor is A

Let’s find the L.C.M of U, V and W

Hence, common multiples are R,S and T, then they are taken and multiplied as R × S × T is the  which is a number P is obtained that belongs to N. Here P is the LCM of those numbers.
