"Commercial farming refers to farming which is done on a large scale in a region for commercial use whereas in subsistence farming, farmers only grow crops/food enough to fulfil their requirements.
An example of crop which is commercial in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh but grown only as subsistence crop in Bihar and West Bengal is wheat.
