Some points on coronary arteries are as follows:-

1. Coronary arteries are these arteries which oxygenated blood to the heart muscles.

2. Mammals such as human have 2 coronary arteries.

3. One coronary artery is present on the left and the other on the right side of our body.

4. It arises from the dorsal aorta of the heart.

5. Coronary artery is further divided into branches in order to carry blood to different parts & regions in our body.

Some information about Coronary veins are as follows-

1. These collect deoxygenated blood from the heart muscles.

2. The coronary sinus is the collection of coronary veins in our heart .

3. This coronary sinus opens into the right auricle of heart.

The coronary arteries are responsible for carrying nutrient-rich, oxygenated blood from the left ventricle to the myocardium;

while the coronary veins take nutrient – poor deoxygenated blood away from the myocardium and to the right atrium.

Left coronary artery (LCA) Left anterior descending artery. Left circumflex artery. Posterior descending artery. Ramus or intermediate artery.

Right coronary artery (RCA) Right marginal artery. Posterior descending artery.
