(i) Cockroach belongs to phylum-Arthropoda and is a terrestrial organism.
Its body is protected by an exoskeleton made up of hard substance called chitin. This exoskeleton protects the cockroach from any harm.
(ii) The body of the cockroach have holes called spiracles present in the thorax and abdomen of its body. Spiracles are the structure that helps in uptake and exchange of atmospheric gases.

External Features:-

The body is elongated and segmented and dark brown in colour. The exoskeleton is thick, hard made from calcareous plates called sclerites. Exoskeleton is coated with wax impermeable to water which protects body from loss of water and provides rigidity and surface for attachment of body muscles.
