RESISTIVITY = (A * R)/L

resistance = 4Ω, area = A, length = L

RESISTIVITY = (4*A)/L = 4A/L

resistivity is same for everything if the materials are the same.

now, resistance = ?

length = L/2 , area = 2A.

resistivity = (R * 2A)/( L/2)

               = R*2A * \frac{2}{L} =  4AR/L

As resistivity is equal for the same material,

4A/L = 4AR/L  => \frac{4A}{L} = \frac{4AR}{L} =>  R = 1Ω

The resistance of the another wire is 1Ω
