so question f(x)= x³-3x²-13x+15

and divisor= x²+2x-3= (factorise)

= (x-1)(x+3)

if f(x) is divisible by divisor,

if f(1) and f(-3) comes zero then the thing will be divisible by divisor.

So f(1)= 1³-3(1)²-13(1)+15

= 0

and

f(-3)= (-3)³-3(-3)²-13(-3)+15

= -27-27+39+15

= 0

since f(-divisor) is 0

so f(x) is divisible by (x²+2x-3)
