Answer:

Nephrons are structural and functional unit of the kidney.

Structure of a Nephron is described below :-

1. Nephrons are the filtering units of kidney.

2. Each kidney has large number of nephrons.

3. The main components of the nephron are as follows :-

  • glomerulus
  • glomerulus Bowman’s capsule
  • glomerulus Bowman’s capsule a long renal tubule

Functioning of a Nephron is described as follows :-

1. The blood enters the kidney through the renal artery.

2. The water and solute particles are transferred to the nephron at Bowman’s capsule.

3. some substances such as amino acids, glucose amd salts are selectively reabsorbed and unwanted molecules are added in the urine.

4. The filtrate then moves down into the loop where more water is absorbed.

5. From here, the filtrate moves upwards into the distal tubule and finally to the collecting duct. Collecting duct collects urine from many nephrons.

6. The urine formed in each kidney enters a long tube called ureter.

7. From ureter, it gets transported to the urinary bladder and then into the urethra.

Answer:

A nephron is the basic unit of structure in the kidney. A nephron is used separate to water, ions and small molecules from the blood, filter out wastes and toxins, and return needed molecules to the blood. The glomerulus is the specialized configuration of capillaries within the nephron that make kidneys possible .✔️
