Configurational isomers = 4
● Explanation-
When hydrogen bromide is added to 2-pentyne, the product formed is 3-bromopent-2-yne and 2-bromopent-2-yne.
2CH3-C≡C-C2H5 + 2HBr --->
CH3-HC=C(Br)-C2H5 + CH3-(Br)C=CH-C2H5
Therefore, there are 2 structural isomers. Each of this will leads to Z & E configurational isomers. i.e. total 4.
