FIRST FINDING THE VALUE OF p

substitute 2 in place of x

3 \times  {2}^{2}   - p(2 + 1) \\ 12 - 3p = 0 \\  - 3p =  - 12 \\ p = 4

{\boxed{p=4}}

FINDING THE VALUE OF q

substituting the value of x and p

4 \times  {2}^{2}  - q \times 2 + 9 = 0

16 - 2q + 9 = 0 \\ 25 + - 2q = 0 \\ 2q = 25 \\ q = 25 \div 2

{\boxed{q=25/2}}
