1.because rain water contains some Acid because of this rain water conducts electricity whereas distilled water doesn't contain any acid or any salt so its not conduct electricity .
2.
metals
1. Oxides of metal are basic in nature.
non metal
1. Oxides of non-metals are acidic in nature.
metal
2. Metals displace hydrogen from dilute acids.
non metal
2. They cannot do so.
metal
3. Metals form chlorides which are electrovalent or ionic compounds.
non metal
3. Non-metals form chlorides which are covalent compounds.
metal
4. they displace hydrogen from water
non metal
4. They cannot do so.

Hey mate..
=========

1) Rain water conducts electricity because Rainwater comtains impurities such many harmful gases like SO2 , NO2 etc. which inturn contains ions which is responsible for their conduction of electricity.

Distilled water doesn't conduct electricity for the fact that it is a pure water. Pure water does' nt release ions when electricity is passed through it. So, it doesn't conduct electricity.

2)The following are the differences between metals and non-metals on the basis of chemical properities :---

Metals:---
=======

1) They form metallic oxides which are basic.

2) Metals are electropositive i.e. it tends to release electrons.

3) Metals form ionic bonds.

4) They react with dilute acids to form a salt and evolve hydrogen gas.

Non-metals:---
==========

1) They form non-metallic oxides which are acidic.

2) Non-metals are electronegative i.e. it tends to take electrons.

3) Non-metals form covalent bonds.

4) They do not react with dilute acids. These are not capable of replacing hydrogen.
