GIVEN VALUES

Mass Number (a) = 23

Atomic Number (z) = 11

__________________________________

i) How many Neutrons are there in X

Using, Mass Number = No. of Protons + No. of Neutrons

23 = 11 + No. of Neutrons

No. of Neutrons = 12

Hence, no of neutrons is 12

2) Identity X

As X has an atomic number of 11 and a mass number of 23 it is sodium

It is sodium element

3) Electronic configuration of X

Using Octate rule which states that an atom should have either 8 or 2 electrons to get balanced

Electronic Configuration = 2,8,1
