1. A volcano is an opening in the Earth's crust through which molten rocks, gases and steam come out with force on the Earth's surface. The materials which come out, accumulat to form volcanic mountains.

2. Earthquake is the term used to describe to trembling the Earth's surface. Most earthquakes are minor tremors while larger earthquakes usually begin with slight tremors and later one take the form of one or more violent shocks.

3. A tornado is a violent windstorm and is mainly characterised by a twisting, funnel-shaped cloud. It is accompanied by a thunderstorm and produced when cool air overrides the layer of warm air.

4. Tsunamis are ocean waves of a longer duration produced by earthquakes or underwater landslides. Tsunamis are often incorrectly refered to as tidal waves. A tsunami can travel at the speed averaging 450 miles per hour in the open ocean.
