Give the Biosynthesis of tropane alkaloids ​

As with other secondary products, the biosynthesis of tropane alkaloids in plants has been extensively investigated by the use of labelled precursors (for a review, see [11]). Recent advances in the techniques of alkaloid analysis and enzyme purification, however, have now made it possible to isolate and characterize biosynthetic enzymes in the pathway, and earlier results using precursor feeding must be validated and may necessitate a revision of the biosynthetic pathways proposed. A prerequisite to such studies is a sufficient supply of cell material with high biosynthetic capability, thus, with high enzyme activities.
