Due to the Indian Oceanic Trade, many cities around the Indian Ocean were become wealthy during medieval period.
For example, the Swahili coast of Africa started their trading with ivory, gold and sandalwood, and China has started the trading the west market with their silk products.
Apart from that, during medieval period, many sultans or rulers of different states started enough or free space to the ships for trading.
