all the distances and measure from pole of the mirror as origin
distance measure in the same direction as that of incident light are taken as positive
distance measure against the direction of incident light are taken as negative
distance measure of 1 and perpendicular to the principal Axis are taken as positive
distance measure downward and perpendicular to principal Axes are taken as negative
