The author's grandmother was a religious woman. She was strong in character.
She used to wore a spotless white dress carrying her rosary beads in her hand. She was very close to the author since his childhood.
When she was in the village she used to feed dogs. When she came to city she began to feed sparrows. Feeding sparrows would be her happiest half hour of the day. Whatever changes came into her life she accepted them calmly . She kept on saying her prayers and spent her most of the time on the spinning wheel.
When the author was going abroad she went to the the railway station and gave him a parting kiss. She showed no emotions.
