miss. Sullivan was Helens teacher and companion. she arrived on 3rd march,1887 at Helens house in tuscumbia to meet her. actually miss. sullivan had also lost majority of her eyesight at the age of five. two operations on her eyes had made her able to read some normal print. she graduated from Perkins institute in 1886 and was searching for a job when she received an offer from mr. anand to work as a teacher of helen Keller, a deaf and blind girl miss sullivan accepted the job and came to Helens home. miss. sullivan was a very caring and affectionate lady. she was a great admirer of nature and beauty and she explained to helen every aspect of natural beauty with its finance essence.

She was the one who taught Helen not just like an ordinary teacher but someone as who would teach all the aspects of life.

The day she arrived in Helen's life, Helen marked it as the most favourite day of her life. This was the day when Anne Sullivan brought a new hope of life in Helen's life.

Helen describes her as the "light of love" in her dark world. Miss Anne taught Helen many things including how to be a better human being, bookish knowledge etc etc.
