Mrs . Vaan Dan is also an important character in annex . she is Mr . Vaan Daan's wife . her actual name is Auguste van pels , but Anne calls her Petronella van Daan . initially Anne had good opinion about her. Mrs . Vann Daan is friendly women . but soon she finds her a teasing women . on some ocassion she finds her instigating others and Anne calls her an instigator . Anne finds her a fatalist who can be petty , flirtatious , stingy and disagreeable . Mrs . Vaan Daan frequently complains about the family's situation . she always criticizes the Annex . Anne does not admire her nature . at last she did not survive the war .
