The postmaster was a fat and amiable fellow. He was a senisable and a campassionate human being who was amazed by the depth of faith in God that is showed by Lencho . Although at first he was amused by Lencho letter to god , he become serious and wanted to help Lencho because he didn't want his faith to be shaken.
