the bond between two metals or two non-metals is called covalent compound.
they usually are weak bonds.
they require less heat or charge to break them into compounds as compared to ionic compounds.
example:-CCl

1.a covalent compound are usually found in liquid and gaseous state and some of in solid.
2.The melting and boiling point of covalent compound are generally lower than ionic because covalently bonded molecule are seem to have strong bond within but their intermolecular forces are small so this give rise to low melting or boiling point
3.these compounds are insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvent such as Benzene, petrol.
4. covalent compound do not conduct electricity because the electron are shared between atom and charged particle are formed so these are generally poor conductor of electricity.
