uncle podger is the narrator's uncle. he makes situatios chaotic while accomplishing his missions. the narrator narrates about hanging a picture in the dining room. he disturbs every member if the family and asks them to bring hammer, chair ,ruler, step ladder. he tries to find out his coat but fails. two people would have to hold the chair and the third one would help him upon it and hold him there. the fourth would hand him a nail and a fifth would pass him up the hammer and he would take hole of nail and dropped it. uncle podger cannot complete any work by himself silently. he blames his wife by saying that women make such a fuss over everything.
