a. Fe2O3 (Rust , Ferric oxide) It forms as a layer on the iron nail in the presence of water and water vapour.
2 Fe + 3 H2O ------> Fe2O3 + 3 H2
b. CuCO3 (Cuppric carbonate).It forms as a layer on copper articles in presence of carbon dioxide and water vapour .
Cu + CO2 + H2O -----> CuCO3 + H2
c. AgS (Silver sulphide) .It forms as a layer on silver vessels in presence of hydrogen sulphide .
Ag + H2S ------> AgS + H2
