• multilayered epithelia — epithelia which consist of multi layer with the basal layer resting on the basement membrane . The epithelium is named according to the shape of cell of most superficial layer.
•pseudo stratified epithelia — single layered cell but give a false appearance of stratification

Epithelium is classified into six types,they are:-
i . Simple epithelia:-when the epithelum is composed of a single layer of cells ,it is called simple epithelial tissue
ii. Stratified epithelia:- when the epithelia two or more later of cells are called stratified epithelial tissue .
On the basis of size and shape ,they are classified into three groups ,they are :-
I. Squamous epithelial tissue :- gives the extremely thin cells that resemble the cells of a fish
ii. Cubodial epithelial tissue:- contains cells that appear square in cross section but are marginally longer than they are wide.
iii. Columnar epithelial tissue :- consists of elongated cell involved in absorption of materials
