Copper (Cu) is an element (and not a compound), so the chemical composition of copper is, well… copper!
In a piece of metal copper, there are of course millions of copper atoms held together by metallic bonding. What happens in metallic bonding is that two valence electrons from each copper atom “leaves” the atom and gather together as delocalized electrons. This leaves behind positively-charged copper(II) ions, which form a giant metallic lattice, as well as a sea of delocalized electrons that balances out the positive charge of the metallic lattice.
