Given that:

  • Length of the cuboid = 50 cm

  • Breadth of the cuboid = 40 cm

  • Height of the cuboid = 2.5 cm

Required Solution:

As in the query it was not mentioned about what to find , so both the method of finding the value of cuboid is used here.

  • First Method!!

We know that,

➦Total Surface Area of a cuboid = 2 ( lb + bh + hl )

Applying this formula,

➦Total Surface Area of a cuboid = 2 ( lb + bh + hl )

  • Putting the values .

➦Total Surface Area of a cuboid = 2 ( 50 × 40 + 40 × 2.5 + 2.5 × 50 )

  • According to BODMAS , firstly we multiply the numbers.

➦Total Surface Area of a cuboid = 2 ( 2000 + 100.0 + 125.0 )

  • Now, we remove the zeroes

➦Total Surface Area of a cuboid = 2 ( 2000 + 100 + 125 )

  • Now, adding the numbers

➦Total Surface Area of a cuboid = 2 × 2225

  • Final step, by multiplying we got the required Value.

➦Total Surface Area of a cuboid = 4450 cm²

  • Second Method!!

We know that,

➦ Laterall Surface Area of a cuboid = 2h ( l + h )

By applying this Formula,

➦ Laterall Surface Area of a cuboid = 2h ( l + h )

  • Putting the values.

➦ Laterall Surface Area of a cuboid = 2 × 2.5 ( 50 + 40 )

  • Firstly , Adding the numbers because it have brackets.

➦ Laterall Surface Area of a cuboid = 2 × 2.5 × 90

  • Now , multiplying 2 and 2.5

➦ Laterall Surface Area of a cuboid = 5.0 × 90

  • Removing the zero

➦ Laterall Surface Area of a cuboid = 5 × 90

  • Final step , Multiplying the last two numbers

➦ Laterall Surface Area of a cuboid = 450 cm²

Happy Learning!!
