Semimetal are elements in the periodic table which do not fully adhere to the properties of metal, solid non metals or semiconductors.

They have intermediate properties which mean that they match some of the properties of metals, solid non metals as well as semiconductors.

Hence are also known as metalloid. A few examples of such elements are arsenic, antimony or tin.
