Hey Friend,
Pearl Millet or Bajra comes under the category of "Millets".
The details of the cultivation of Bajra are -
1. Temperature - 27 degrees to 32 degrees celcius [they can survive conditions of high heat and drought]
2. Rainfall - 50cm to 100cm [they are known as dry crops for they do not require much rainfall]
3. Soil - dry soil, clayey loams (the best because of well drainage)
4. Since, bajra is a millet, it is both Kharif crop and Rabi crop. [kharif in north and rabi in south]
5. Areas - Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh etc...
6. Sowing - mainly in July
7. Used as fodder crop and is a good source of energy
Hope it helps!
