THE CONTINENTS ARE in constant motion: Tectonic plates crash together and break apart, creating new crust while old crust is pulled below the surface. The process shrinks and widens oceans, uplifts mountain ranges, and rearranges landmasses. In about 250 million years a new supercontinent, Pangaea Proxima, will form.

The world map 250 million years ago was entirely different it has got a supercontinent namely Pangea. Now we can see seven continents on the map.

Explanation:

  • 250 million years ago the world map was entirely different as we can see today.
  • Million years ago scientists found a supercontinent called Pangea.
  • It is incorporated in almost all parts of the earth.
  • Moreover, there were various continents that formed and many were connected with each other.
  • For example, northland south-America connected with each other. Formation of the Himalayas took place.
  • Today we can see a calm environment comparatively.
  • The continents are settled at their own places.
  • We cannot see seven continents on the world map.
