1.The clemmensen reduction is used to conveniently reduce the carbonyl compounds, which are stable to strongly acidic conditions, to alkanes.
2.The wolff kishner reduction is the reduction of carbonyl compounds to hydrocarbon by heating them with hydrazine hydrate & a base.
