LIOH ACTS AS A LEWIS BASE AS WELL AS BRONSTED BASE

Hello there!
An example of a compound that can both act as a Lewis base and a Bronsted-Lowry base is water.
A Lewis base is an electron donor such that it can donate its nonbonding (pair of) electron(s) to the reaction. In water, oxygen has the nonbonding pair of electrons.
Example reaction of water:
NH4+ (ammonia) + H2O (water) --> NH3 (ammonium) + H3O+
A Bronsted-Lowry base is a proton acceptor such that it has a lone electron pair to accept hydrogen. Hydrogen is the proton here.
Example reaction of water:
H2SO4 (sulfuric acid) + H2O (water) --> HSO4- (bisulphate ion) + H3O+ (hydronium ion)
I hope this will help you!
