Give the experimental explanation of electromagnetic induction.?
→ Number of experiments were performed by Faraday and Henry to realise the concept of electromagnetic induction.
Some of these experiment are explained as :
Note : Check the necessary diagrams provided with the answer for different (1) and (2) positions.
1). When a coil is connected to a galvanometer (G) and a bar magnet is moved towards the coil , the pointer shows deflection. The deflection continues till the magnet is in motion, on reversing the direction of motion of magnet, galvanometer shows deflection but in opposite direction. The deflection in galvanometer shows rapid change, when magnet is moved with rapid speed. On keeping the magnet fixed and moving coil across the axis of magnet then again deflection in galvanometer is observed.
» It is concluded that the relative motion betweetn the coil and magnet is responsible for generation of electric current in the coil.
2). ) In other experiment, bar magnet is replaced by a coil C1 connected to a battery. On moving coil C2 towardss C1 again deflection is observed in C1 and on moving coil in opposite direction than earlier one, the deflection is observed in opposite direction and same results are obtained when C2 is kept fixed and C1 is moved.
Hope it helped u.
