degree of zero polynomial is not defined, or
 \infty
explaination:
The degree of any polynomial depends on the highest power of variable and so is its graph( for linear is a straight line, for quadratic it is a parabola etc. )
but in case of zero polynomial, no matter what the power of polynomial be, its value is constant (i.e . is 0)
Let f(x) be the polynomial of degree n (it is a straight line)and
if f(x) = x² then n=2 and its degree is 2 (it makes parabola on graph)
but in case of zero polynomial,
let
f(x)=0×(x)^n
then for n=1
its value is constant=0
for n=2
its value is constant=0
so there is no linear or parabola for different values of n
hence we only say that its value is not defined or it is equal to infinity ( Don't know why they say it is infinity)

mohitraobhai: very bad
Satyadoot: hmm, listen
