following are the characteristics of pteridophytes :-
1) pteridophytes are used for medicinal purposes and as soil binders .
2)pteridophytes at the first Terrestrial plants to possess vascular tissues that is xylem and phloem .
3)pteridophytes are found in cool ,damp, Shady places though some main floor is well in sandy soil conditions.
4)in pteridophytes the main plant body is sporophyte which is differentiated into true root, stem and leaves.
eg. selaginella, lycopodium, equisetum .

④❭ Gametophyte are the main plant.
