Charles' Law states that the volume (V) of a confined gas is directly proportional to its temperature (T) in Kelvin.

When the temperature changes one unit on the Kelvin scale it is equivalent to a change in one Celsius degree; that is, they are in a one-to-one correspondence. Note that 0 on the Kevin scalerepresents "Absolute Zero" or -273 º.

Graph between V and T at constant pressure is called isobar or isoplestics and is always a straight line. A plot of V versus t(°C) at constant pressure is a straight line cutting the temperature axis at – 273.15°C. It is the lowest possible temperature.

At constant mass and pressure density of a gas is inversely proportional to it absolute temperature.
