Give the historical development of cell theory.(answer in own words)

cells were first discovered by Robert Hooke in 1665.He Observed the cells in a thin slice of cork with the help of a primitive microscope.He saw honey comb like structure to whom he gave the name cell,which is a Latin word for a little room.
