Explanation:

The inland emigration act was passed by the British in the year 1859. This made the tea plantation workers of Assam with restrictions to move out of the plantation area of the tea gardens without permission. If they left the tea gardens without permission, they were caught by the police and were severely beaten up.

Infact people were rarely get such permission ....

people 's weren't allowed to go their homes....
