The nervous system can be described as that part of a person's body which helps to transmit signal from one part of the body to another. It has a few limitations -

1. The transmission of signals is not a continuous process. The nervous system becomes unable to transmit signals immediately after it has transmitted one signal.

2. The nervous system also does not connect with every part of the body.

(i)      Electrical impulses have their limitations because they reach only those cells connected to the nervous tissue.

(ii)   Also the nerve cells cannot generate & transmit impulses continuously.

(iii) Electrical communication is slower.
