Give the meaning ofshrub and thorn forest?
Answers
Answer:
The scrub forests are the forest areas in which small thorny bushes are present and thorn forests are those in which thorny plants like cactus are present.
Explanation:
In geography, the type of vegetation depends on the climatic conditions especially the availability of rainfall and the average temperature of the given area. If the region receives good rainfall then in the forests the leaves are evergreen and broad. But, when there is a decrease in rainfall then small thorny plants only grow in that condition, they are called scrub forests. Scrub and thorn forests are found in areas in which an average annual rainfall is only about 70 cm.
These areas have a shortage of water and only these scrubs and thorns have some physiological adaptations that make them grow in these dry areas as the modification of leaves into thorns helps them to survive in such harsh conditions. In India thorn and scrub forests are mainly found in the regions of Rajasthan, Gujarat areas of Madhya Pradesh, etc.
