Chlamydomonas has two type of reproductions- sexual and asexual. Among which the asexual reproduction takes place with two different methods. The first method occurs by the creation of zoospores. The protoplasm of chlamydomonas longitudinally falls apart with the mitotic division and creates two protoplasts that are daughter in nature.

At the first right angle the second protoplasm division takes place. The neuro-motor apparatus initials and pyrenoids divide too. Daughter protoplasts were developed from contractile vacuoles which transforms into zoospores.
