Ethanoic or acetic acid is a organic acid present in vinegar. Acetic acid is the common name and Ethanoic is the systematic name.
The molecular formula of Ethanoic acid is CH3COOH. Here CH202 is formic acid, NH03 is nitric acid and H2SO4 is sulphuric acid. Carboxylic acids are organic compounds and the general chemical formula of this acid is RCOOH.
Here the R is a side group which is made with carbon, hydrogen and few other atoms.
On the other part, -COOH is carboxyl group and they have some polar substances. They have higher boiling points than water.
