Amphibians have three chambered heart. It has two auricles and one ventricle. Therefore, in amphibians, oxygenated blood and deoxygenated blood mixes up. So, they are cold blooded animals and there body temperature changes with the temperature change in surrounding. But Aves or birds, are warm blooded animals like mammals. They have four chambered heart, which has two auricles and two ventricles and no mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood takes place there. As a result they are able to maintain constant body temperature like that of mammals irrespective of surrounding temperature.
