there are two types of seeds

1= monocot seed

2= Dicot seed

monocot seed are those seed in which only one cotyledon is present eg. rice and wheat

cotyledon provides nourishment to the seed

dicot are those seed in which two cotyledon are present

eg. pea, groundnut etc.
